Just sitting on the little porch of the loft with a cup of coffee listening to the birds sing. Mostly Carolina Wrens and Cardinals! I never have my camera when I really need it. So I missed a great video yesterday. I was watering some flowers when a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird came from across the yard to bathe in the mist just a foot away from me. He hovered in the air catching water droplets at first, then perched on the Gardenia bush and held his wings open - to cool off I guess.
I misted him until my thumb gave out.... and he took off.
